Hunting in Mbalabala

by | Jun 18, 2017 | Lifestyle, Leisure & Travel

Mbalabala Safaris has been hunting in Zimbabwe since 1987 and in that time we have built a good reputation for big game trophies. We only hunt in the best areas in Zimbabwe to ensure you have the best possible hunt.

Begun by Charlie and Pam Stanton, over 20 years ago, Mbalabala Safaris offers a unique hunting experience in the southern part of Zimbabwe.

The hunting season takes place during the winter months, between April and October, when the bush is sparse, water scarce and the game is in perfect condition. Lindon (Charlie and Pam’s youngest son) is now a director in the company and is starting to take over the reigns.

Limerick in Mbalabala, the family’s home since 1945, and Mashura, in the West Nicholson area, belonging to Lindon Stanton (Snr.), Charlie’s older brother.

Other hunting is sourced from a number of privately owned game and cattle ranches in the south western districts of Matabeleland South. Leopard and Plains Game are the major attractions of our safaris.

The list of available animals can be found on our Enquiry Form. Clients are accommodated in the Farm Homestead (Limerick) and at a reed and tented camp on the banks of a farm dam (Mashura)

Professional hunters at Mbalabala Safaris include Lindon Stanton and Marthinus Kok.

Lindon is the couple’s younger son who followed family tradition and joined Matt and Charlie in 2000.Lin is now a qualified PH and enjoys the thrill of the Leopard hunt as well as the heart pounding excitement of Buffalo and Elephant hunting.

Marthinus (Tinie) Kok is a long-time friend of Lindon’s and also a member of Into The Jesse hunting blog.

Tinie started off his safari career whilst accompanying his uncle Doug Kok during his free time where he developed a deep seeded passion for the African Bush.

From there Tinie went under the tutorship of a few of the legendary PH’s of Zimbabwe.
